What is a job Coach?
Job Coaches work one on one with persons with developmental disabilities on the job. Coaches provide assistance and encouragement to the individual, while he/she learns their job duties. The role of the Job Coach is to train and coach the individual to the point where he/she can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job independently. Some Job Coaches are only needed until the individual becomes independent on the job; however, in some cases, Job Coaches will be needed to work one on one with the individual for as long as they are employed. A Job Coach position can be very challenging, yet rewarding. Job Coaches are very important to the individuals who are clients of our Employment Corporation. They play a key role in assisting these individuals in achieving independence, as well as improving self esteem and quality of life.
